Our own wedding – what I learn (or re-learn) as I get married!
I keep being asked by friends, clients, and colleagues what it feels like to get married after planning more then 500 weddings in my lifetime, but never my own. Well, it feels amazing. So I just met the love of my life into my 40’s! Im in love and doing something I love – for myself.
Between planning my wedding and work and travel I am going to work on some blog topics from a personal side and also on topics i haven’t really tackled before or that I am seeing with a fresh take. Our wedding date is June 22, 2018 so lets see how much information I can share before that point, without giving any of our special touches away before the big day.
Right after Christmas Joe and I went up to Philadelphia for the day. We picked up our gorgeous wedding bands (mine was designed by Joe and our designer when they did the engagement ring together – talk about a cool process I sort of wish I had gotten to see lol!) at Safian & Rudolph. I can’t recommend them enough!!
Once that was done we strolled on over to 7th street to meet with Brian from Henry Davidsen, master tailor and image consultant to see about Joe’s custom suit for our wedding. We had an idea of what he wanted to wear but we learned more in that 3 hour appointment (thats an hour longer then it took me to find my dress!) then I could have ever imagined. How a suit is made, how to tell a good one from a bad one. We picked out materials, liners, accessories. It was fun and it was an experience that Joe enjoyed and helped add to our wedding planning. Guys – you need to do this. Don’t rent that tux – if you can, go experience this at least once. Joe has 2 more fittings and I can’t wait to see how this starts coming together. You;ll have to see the wedding pics though – no sneak peaks here!!
